Council for Library Leadership Portal

Introduction

The purpose of the Council for Library Leadership will be to foster the development of strong libraries and library leadership in the CCCU by promoting collaboration among library leaders, provosts and vice presidents of academic affairs, faculty and other stakeholders in the work of libraries.

Council members include:

Shannon Eaves, Director of Zondervan Library, Taylor University, IN

Esther Gillie, Dean, Regent University, VA

Denise Nelson, Director of Ryan Library, Point Loma Nazarene University, CA

Garrett Trott, University Librarian, Corban University, OR

Stan Rosenberg, Vice President of Research and Scholarship, CCCU, DC

Jeff Clawson, Program Consultant, CCCU, DC

Collaboration

Specifically, the Council will:

    • Facilitate library directors and deans learning from one another regarding the common challenges faced in developing, sustaining, and growing well aligned and supportive libraries.
    • Identify and disseminate information about best practices in library and information science realms through a listserv and networking conferences.
    • Promote collaboration with one another on research about libraries and library leadership in the CCCU, in order to better inform our campus leaders and the broader academic community.
    • Explore the potential of collaborative bargaining for resources and participation in various information initiatives such as OER.

Events

Tackle the current challenges of today’s academic libraries with a group of thought partners in CCCU library leadership across the United States and Canada. Each webinar will address a current issue through presentations and breakout discussions.

Librarian Networking Group

The Librarian Networking Group allows individuals in the same position from multiple CCCU campuses to communicate with each other so that they can ask questions specific to their field, share new resources, and collaborate on new projects.
