WASHINGTON — The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) is pleased to announce the addition of three new international members after approval by the Council’s Board of Directors at its most recent meeting.
Leadstar Christian University (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), Heritage Christian University (Accra, Ghana) and the London School of Theology (based in Northwood, UK) expand the CCCU’s roster of international members and affiliates to 36 institutions around the globe.
“We are delighted to welcome these uniquely different institutions into the larger collection of Christian higher education,” said CCCU President David Hoag. “In many ways, they evoke the future of our collective educational mission. Leadstar and Heritage operate in a region of the world seeing the most significant expansion in Christian communities and churches, and LST serves students from more than 80 denominations.”
Leadstar, the youngest institution, was founded in 2012 and serves more than 12,000 students across Ethiopia through a broad network of 127 learning centers. Heritage Christian University in Ghana is sponsored by the Churches of Christ with origins as a mission-focused training center, and as a university, now offers undergraduate and graduate programs in technology, business, and health sciences. London School of Theology provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral theological education and is the largest interdenominational evangelical theological college in Europe.
Together, they join an organization of more than 175 institutions worldwide. Each institution will benefit from CCCU membership in a variety of ways, ranging from professional development and advocacy support to an array of shared services that can provide synergy, access to opportunities not available on an individual campus, and the ability to find new ways for substantial cost savings for participating institutions.
