2017 SSDO Conference

This conference will bring together chief academic officers, campus ministry directors, and senior student development officers. We will gather together to share and learn about practical approaches to major issues that Christian colleges and universities face. As Christians, when we gather we have the distinct pleasure not only to learn but also to pray and worship together for our cause and for one another.

We are finalizing another excellent lineup of speakers and sessions that will address the major issues affecting your institutions, your students, and our world. The plenary session speakers will include:

• Pastor Rick Warren, founder and lead pastor of Saddleback Church and author of The Purpose Driven Life, will join us and share with us the importance of hope in our work.
• Barry Corey, Biola University president, and Curt Thompson, psychologist and author of The Soul of Shame, will share their latest books and have a conversation about loving our students and caring for them through shame, doubt, and uncertainty.
• CCCU President, Shirley V. Hoogstra will close us out on Friday morning by sharing updates about the CCCU and what’s going on in higher education and on Capitol Hill.

Program

The Institute is designed for professors in or completing their first three years of service at a CCCU Institution. Faculty members who have recently been appointed but have not officially begun their service are also eligible to apply. We welcome participants from across the wide spectrum of the liberal arts, professional studies, adult learning programs, and more.
