Workshop for Strengthening Grant and Research Offices
Miramar Beach, FL
Overview
Many CCCU institutions lack the ability to support grant and research activities to the extent they would like. To better support research and other grant-supported activities across the CCCU, the meeting will: examine the opportunities and challenges for grant and research support at member institutions; explore practical steps for improving and expanding that support; and encourage identification and adoption of best practices in staffing, running research and grant offices, and IRBs across the diverse range of CCCU campus environments. The conference will focus on four themes:
• Communicating benefits and challenges of growing a research culture
• Undergraduate research
• Collaborative efforts (inter- and intra-institutional)
• Developing infrastructure in CCCU schools
Discussions will range from strategic planning to relationship building and practical advice, to considerations for collaborative efforts among CCCU members. This workshop is offered in conjunction with the CCCU’s grant, Supporting Structures: Innovative Collaborations to Enhance STEM Research at CCCU Member Institutions, with support from the John Templeton Foundation and M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust.
