Scholars' Semester in Oxford

Don an academic gown and prepare for a challenging semester.  As a Visiting Student of Oxford University and a member of Wycliffe Hall, you can live, study, and learn in this historic city of learning

Applicants to The Scholars' Semester in Oxford (SSO) should be in their junior or senior year.  The Oxford tutorial style is very different from the North American system of education; many students find this a stimulating and challenging transition, requiring experience and maturity. The programme is designed to be academically rigorous.  Students are generally members of an Honors Program.  High-achieving, academically-gifted students are also encouraged to apply.

Scholars select one primary tutorial, a secondary tutorial, and an integrative seminar.  In addition, Scholars participate in a special lecture programme aan attend University Lectures.

As Visiting Students, Scholars have full-access to the Bodleian Library, all Faculty Libraries, and the library at Wycliffe Hall.  Students are eligible to participate on University and College level sports teams, clubs, and societies.  Scholars will be housed in Oxford City Centre, on the grounds of St. Hugh's College, or other residential areas within easy walking distance of Wycliffe Hall.
