An adequate Christian pedagogy for teaching literature would have at least three dimensions: doctrinal norms for evaluating the philosophical content of the literature; a situating of authors, literary characters, and readers in various thought frames or world views; and goals or purposes in teaching the literature. With these dimensions in mind, an orientation in this endeavor and a challenge to Christian colleagues is offered.
