Our Commitment to Online Privacy

Thank you for visiting the Web site of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). The CCCU uses electronic communication to contact its member and affiliate campuses and to coordinate initiatives on an international scale.

The CCCU is committed to protecting your online privacy, and this notice explains CCCU's online information practices and how information is collected and used. So that this notice is accessible, it is available to all visitors to CCCU.org.

Anonymous Visitor Access

You can view the CCCU.org home page and all interior CCCU.org Web pages without disclosing any personal information.

Visitors to CCCU.org are not able to communicate with other visitors and cannot post information to be accessed by others. The CCCU does not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means to personal data about specific individuals. The CCCU does not use cookies to store personal data nor does the CCCU link nonpersonal information stored in cookies with personal data about specific individuals.

The CCCU uses cookies to track usage of the CCCU Web site using Web tracking software. These cookies are used to track numbers of visitors to the entire Web site. These cookies do not, and cannot, provide the CCCU with personal information about visitors to the Web site.


Personal Visitor Information

We collect the personal information that you may volunteer while using our electronic services, such as completing an online meeting registration form or sending us e-mail. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or entities or private organizations. We do not disclose your personal data to our subsidiaries or other organizations.

Information that we collect from the online registration forms include:

  • Institution
  • Address
  • Phone and fax numbers
  • E-mail address
  • Credit card number, expiration date and the cardholder's name
  • Registration category


How We Use Information Collected via Online Communication

We use the information you provide about yourself when registering for a meeting only to complete your registration and only for that specific meeting. However, a list of attendee names and addresses is available to meeting attendees, sponsors and exhibitors. No other information is shared with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that registration.

For e-mail correspondence not collected via online registration forms, we use the return e-mail addresses to answer e-mail inquiries we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.


Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Information obtained via online registration forms is encrypted, using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Technology. An SSL connection ensures privacy, authentication, and message integrity. CCCU.org also uses a Thawte digital certificate (http://www.thawte.com). With Thawte and SSL Technology, information sent via the Internet is encrypted and authenticated to protect access to communications and transactions. URLs beginning with "https://" indicate that an SSL connection will be used.


Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. We never collect or maintain information at our Web site from persons we know to be under age 13, and no part of our Web site is designed to attract anyone under age 13. Please do not communicate with or contact us if you are under age 13.

If we do have personal data about you, we will provide you with a copy of the personal data that we keep about you at no charge. Because privacy laws both within the United States and overseas are in a state of flux and subject to change, the CCCU reserves the right to change this privacy policy effective when it is re-posted to CCCU.org. When changes are made to this privacy policy, the CCCU will not reduce the scope of this privacy policy.
