Adult and online programs are struggling to make sense of new financial aid regulations regarding the definition of a credit hour. It appears colleges will have to demonstrate a good faith effort to specify a consistent policy for awarding credit hours. This is particularly vexing for colleges delivering courses online and/or in an accelerated format where seat time does not determine outcomes.
