MARION, Ind.A new book featuring best practices in faith integration is now available from the
CCCU Center for Research in Adult Learning. The book, titled
Best Practices in the Integration of Faith and Learning For Adult and Online Learner, is edited by Cheryl Torok Fleming, assistant dean for teaching and learning at Indiana Wesleyan University (IN), and Cynthia Benn Tweedell, executive director of CCCU Center for Research in Adult Learning at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The book is the product of a year-long research project, designed to uncover practical models of faith based teaching in adult higher education programs, says Tweedell. In May 2009, the new CCCU Center for Research in Adult Learning hosted a gathering of representatives from more than 30 Christian college adult programs to share ideas for best practices in the integration of faith and learning. This book originates from that initial brainstorming meeting. Representatives from Christian adult programs were asked to write down their best practices in the form of brief chapters. The best of these practices are shared in the book.

The authors and editors of this volume hope that the examples found in this book will inspire Christian college faculty to create their own variations of these faith integration techniques, adds Tweedell. In this manner, Christian college faculty can live out the missions of their institutions, which are designed to set them apart from the growing number of adult-focused programs of study which seem to be increasingly present in todays market of higher education.
The book is published by the CCCU Center for Research in Adult Learning and is only available through the Center. Copies are $15 each, or $12 each for quantities of ten or more. To order, contact
