Original: OurTribute to Jocelyn C. Falck
As you embark upon this new chapter in your life, we hope that the past twenty-eight months have been special. During this time you have made a significant contribution to the work of the Council and we commend you for your loyalty, dedication and contributions.
Jocelyn,
I still recall our first meeting and how nervous you appeared tome. Now when we visit I observe great growth in your confidence, poise and understanding. You always exude a quiet graciousness, which has been only one of the many assets you brought to ourstaff. I so appreciate your ever willing readiness to help me outwith some editing or research, knowing you were already busy. Youhave come to know the mission and programs of the CCCU as few everdo. You leave a legacy of new forms of communication, valuableresources on the web site, an organized office, and goodrelationships. Thank you!
To see now the joy in your life as you anticipate marriage makesthe prospect of your leaving a bit easier to take. Please count theCCCU as one of your home bases when your travels (or at least notesand emails) bring you back into our lives on Eighth Street. You arealways welcome here! May God's love and grace enrich you and yourdeveloping family for ever and ever.
Bob
Jocelyn,
We've accomplished a lot over the past year with you on theCommunications team, and we will continue to accomplish a lotthanks to the impact you have had on this team and the CCCU. I haveappreciated your creativity and willingness to try new ideas, yourefficiency and work style...you are one of the most agreeablepeople I have ever worked with. You've made my job run smooth. Thanks for everything you've done, for all the deadlines you'vehelped me meet, stories you've written (and cut), and your generalpositive input on the comm team. Sorry to see you go. Stand up tothose picky designers in your future! Tell them no to cutting text!:-)

My second month here, AIC had lunch withBiola's Don Douglas at ThunderGrill. Jocelynand I decided to head back early. On the walk back it began tostorm! It was my first experience with DC weather, 80 degreesone minute, 3 blocks later, thunderstorms! We both were wearingdresses, sandals, and no coats! It was hopeless; we weredrenched. To bring some type of humor to the situation, wedecided to walk back barefoot! At least we could save ourshoes! It was hilarious! My clothes and hair were ruined;still, my memory is the beginning of a good relationship, and anend to anxiety of a new job in a new place.

JCF,
While I've laughed, groaned and smiled as I compiled these"gerund memories," I recognize that they don't define ourfriendship; we have drawn together as we related our college RAexperiences and theological views, and we have matured togetherthrough "the first job" and"guy thoughts"; yes, that is theessence of what makes your leaving harder than others.
With hopes that I will have opportunity to continue appreciatingyour assessment and style,
JRW

Jocelyn:
We have had such special times together during these past twoyears. I have such respect for you, your sensivity, your desire todo what is right, your competence, your love for others.
We, of course, have to laugh together that when I interviewedyou, you had no memory that I was the commencement speaker at yourgraduation from Taylor. I love it! God uses others to keep ushumble! I have been humbled by the ways that you have sought myadvice regarding your relationships and it has been such a delightto watch the beautiful and natural way that you have developed yourrelationship with Rob. It is SOOO right. Finally, I am especiallythankful for your faithfulness to the AIC Fellowship through thickand thin. You have been a steady support during hard times.
I will miss you, Jocelyn. I will miss you not only as acolleague but as a friend.

What a great girl! She laughs at the smallest funny thing, which I love. I also love that just saying a word or two froman old joke can make her laugh. Try it, say"That's fine" toher and see what she does!

To Jocelyn,
Our friendship and great working relationship was cemented onour little trip to North Carolina. Through the many miles on theroad, your introduction to our now mutual friend "Earl," our latenight borrowing of a VCR in a deserted retreat center, the resultsof a Scrabble game that are still displayed on the wall in myoffice, and oh yes, an extremely helpful professional developmentexperience for both of us - we became fast friends and supportivecolleagues. It was well worth it, Ron and Kevin. Thanks, Jocelyn, for your big part in helping me love the CCCU so much. Can't tell you how much I'll missyou!
Kathy
Jocelyn, when I think of you and the CCCU, it is not necessarilywork that comes to mind, but painting. I remember you needed toborrow painting supplies so you could paint your apartment. Iloaded up all our painting gear and brought them in so you coulduse them for your apartment painting party (and then gave you allmy painting wisdom in three minutes or less).
Thanks for being part of the Council and allowing us to enjoyyour pleasant spirit and enthusiastic support for Taylor.
Kyle
From Me to You
From the first time I saw your name in an email from Robyn (andwondered whether it was "Jossie" or "Josie")â¦
To living and working with you these last two years
From our evenings of metro'ing home from theoffice togetherâ¦
To eating dinner in front of "Ed"
From learning how to use chopsticks at the diningtableâ¦
To avoiding encounters with our lovely landlord Frank Malcolm
From watching scary movies (Practical Magic, TheOthers)â¦
To hanging out at a Wilmington beach
From setting up chairs for Bridgewayâ¦
To sharing burned popcorn with our "Breaking Free" smallgroup
From debriefing through our concerns and "talks" with DanCotterâ¦
To leaving our first church in D.C.
From praying through a tough break-up with a long-timeboyfriendâ¦
To meeting new one(s) (ok, Eric doesn'treally count)
From watching you pick yourself up and rising to the nextstage in lifeâ¦
To meeting a man you so well deserve to marry
From living with you to working with you...to befriending you
You have become such a dear kindred spirit
These last two years have been filled with fun, laughter, frustration, prayers, heartacheâ¦and more fun
