A Conversation With...Walter & Darlene Hansen
The Hansens fund the CCCU Initiative Grants to Network Christian Scholars, and have endowed chairs at four colleges. The Hansens are the 2007 recipients of the CCCU Philanthropy Award.

A graduate of Wheaton College (IL) and on the board of trustees at Westmont College (CA), Walter Hansen is currently president of Rivendell Steward's Trust. Darlene graduated from Moody Bible Institute and has taken art classes at Wheaton and Westmont College (CA). She is an artist and has been chair for the last two years of the Arts Council at Westmont College.




 




A Conversation With...Tony Hall
Three times nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Tony P. Hall is a leading advocate for hunger relief programs and improving human rights conditions in the world. He was United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome for three and a half years and represented Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives for almost 24 years.



  

 




A Conversation With ... William "Coffee" Washington
William "Coffee" Washington is senior vice president for student affairs at Trinity International University (IL) and is dean of students at Trinity College. Trinity International University is a 2006 recipient of the CCCU Racial Harmony Award, to be presented at the 2006 CCCU International Forum on Christian Higher Education.



 



 

 

 




 




A Conversation With ... Dr. Dwayne Van Rheenen
Dwayne Van Rheenen is provost for Abilene Christian University (TX), and recipient of the 2006 Racial Harmony Award. The award will be presented during the 2006 CCCU International Forum on Christian Higher Education in Dallas, Texas, March 30 - April 1, 2006.



 



  

 




A Conversation With...Dr. Alister McGrath
Alister McGrath, professor at Oxford University and director of the Oxford Centre for Evangelism and Apologetics, will receive the newly created John R. Dellenback Global Leadership Award for Scholarship at the 2006 CCCU International Forum on Christian Higher Education. One of the most prolific, widely read and influential Christian writers in the world, McGrath travels extensively to speak at conferences and missions.

 

  

 




A Conversation With ... Dr. Alexander Astin
Dr. Alexander Astin is Allan M. Cartter Professor of Higher Education at UCLA and director of the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA. Astin was co-principal investigator for the HERI study, "Spirituality in Higher Education." He has served as director of research for both the American Council on Education and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and is the founding director of the cooperative Institutional Research Program.    



 

 
 





A Conversation With ... Naomi Riley
Naomi Riley is author of God on the Quad: How Religious Colleges and the Missionary Generation Are Changing America, and deputy editor of the Wall Street Journal Taste page. A graduate of Harvard University, Riley was formerly an adjunct fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

 


 





A Conversation With ... Dr. Laurie Schreiner
Dr. Laurie Schreiner is co-author of the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI), a nationally normed instrument used on more than 1,200 college and university campuses across the United States and Canada. Schreiner chairs the Department of Doctoral Studies in Education and teaches in the Higher Education Leadership Doctoral program at Azusa Pacific University (CA); she also co-directs the CCCU's Comprehensive Assessment Project.
