About Atlanta Atlanta, GA is the proud host of the 2010 International Forum on Christian Higher Education. A city of significant cultural influence, Atlanta is a perfect backdrop to this important discussion on critical breakthroughs. For more information on the city of Atlanta, visit the Convention and Tourists Bureau at www.Atlanta.net. Why Atlanta The CCCU leadership selected Atlanta as the site of the next Forum for several reasons, including: - Ease of transportation. Atlanta is easily accessible for both those driving and flying in (the Atlanta airport is an international hub). Local transportation is also easy to use for those who wish to take an excursion downtown.
- Historical and cultural significance. For more than four decades, Atlanta has been linked to the civil rights movement. It is the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. and home to Ebenezer Baptist Church where King and his father both pastored.
- Opportunities for excursions. Atlanta continues to be a city on the rise and offers a wide variety of attractions including the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, Underground Atlanta, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Centennial Olympic Park and a number of museums and historical homes.
- Warmer climate. In late February, Atlanta will likely be a welcome taste of more moderate weather for attendees coming from colder climates.
