Conferences & Events

The Center for Global Curriculum Studies of Seattle Pacific University seeks papers on topics related to Educational Innovation to be presented at the conference, Global Perspectives on Educational Innovation, June 24-26, 2009. The conference venue will be a retreat center near Seattle overlooking the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound.

Papers should address educational innovations in theory and research in any of the following topics: curriculum & instruction, educational administration, higher education, public or private education, moral education, civic education, special education, or counselor education.

Applicants should submit an abstract of no more than 250 words describing their papers. The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 15, 2009. Applicants will be informed whether their paper has been accepted within one week of submission. Abstracts should be sent to aellis@spu.edu.

Papers will be published in a single volume following the conference. In addition, they will be posted on a Conference Wiki and on SPU’s iTunes U website.

The cost of conference registration is $300. This fee includes participation as well as most meals and the banquet at the Rainier Club of Seattle. A list of nearby hotels and help with making reservations will be provided for conference participants.
