The Biola University Department of Art invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Design, to begin August 2008.
Qualifications:
• MFA in Graphic Design, Design or other relevant advanced degree.
• Competence in contemporary media, including print-based and electronic media (web and/or motion graphics).
• Must be familiar with emerging technologies, contemporary art and experimental media as they influence current art theory and design practice.
• Background in historical and contemporary design literacy.
• Professional and teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Commitment to leading curriculum and program development.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
The Biola art department is committed to educating students in contemporary visual arts culture as it is experienced in the vibrant Los Angeles international arts community. The department offers the BFA Degree in Studio Art and is accredited by NASAD. It serves approximately 150 majors and has 7 full-time faculty and 8 part-time faculty. Many Biola art graduates continue their education with postgraduate study or pursue professional art careers.
